Lincolnshire LUG: update

Following on from my previous post about relaunching the Lincolnshire LUG, I thought I would share here the responses that I have received so far from the existing members who are on the mailing list.  This is the mail I sent: Lincs LUG: relaunch?

You can see that I have had a lot of positive responses, including a couple from members of neighbouring LUGs.  This has greatly encouraged me and lets me know that there is appetite out there for an active LUG in Lincolnshire.

If this is something that interests you; you live in Lincolnshire and aren’t already a member of the mailing list, please join so that you can contribute to the conversation and help us create a more active Lincolnshire LUG :)

Without teaching you how to suck eggs, remember you’ll need to stick fliers up in libraries, schools and Uni’s don’t just expect the supposed members to crawl back out the woodwork. Do a Facebook page for the Lug see if the local freebie paper will do a story on it, they’re always desperate for news. Marketing, marketing, marketing. :-D

Get miserable podcasters to stop talking about themselves for a minute and give LLUG a plug. Use Phil! Who wouldn’t want to be a member of a lug run by the wife of the CrunchBang developer/owner/inventor (What do you call someone who has their own distro?) I see nothing wrong in using every tool available to you.

What’s the LLUG website like? Get it revamped there must be some web monkey you know? ;-)

You are perfect as a LugMaster I expect to see you lead an LLUG contingent to OggCamp12 #hugs

@Pete – thanks for your words of wisdom and encouragement. The wheels are in motion and I will keep everyone updated via here, Twitter, identi.ca, mailing lists etc. The lug.org.uk admins have been encouraging too (Popey & Jon Spriggs) and have already helped me loads get things moving/sorted.
